Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif travelled to Doha, Qatar, early on Sunday morning for a two-day stay to attend the 5th United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDCs). He will offer Pakistan’s viewpoint on the socioeconomic difficulties encountered by LDCs in Asia and Africa during the conference. Shehbaz Sharif also thanked HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, on Twitter for the invitation.
The Prime Minister claims that post-pandemic conditions, disruptions in the food and energy supply chains, and climate change have all had a significant impact on LDCs, making these nations vulnerable. In order to best serve the interests of these countries, he added, welfare should be prioritised in public policy.
